At JTA fire we are driven in providing online fire risk assessments at a remarkably low price without compromising quality. For retail to light industrial, from offices to restaurants and everything in between.

Our online tool uses the same format as that used by professional assessors, and we are making it available to you. All questions are straightforward and no specialist knowledge is required. Check out some actual FRAs here.

We also believe that fire safety does not need to be complicated, and for many regular SME businesses, completing a fire risk assessment does not require expert knowledge. You can undertake your FRA with our common sense, step-by-step approach using criteria approved by the British Standards Institute. It’s a process used by fire risk assessors themselves. We have designed the template after 10 years of visiting hundreds of SMEs.

“There is no legal requirement for a FRA to be carried out by specialists, such as consultants. Indeed it can be advantageous for the responsible person to use guidance and carry out the fire risk assessment themselves. Their consequent understanding of the fire safety will enable them to manage fire safety better”

- Colin Todd (consultant fire engineer and author of PAS79)

Complete FRA in 45 minutes

Setting up an account is easy, and upon account confirmation you simply select the template for your business and purchase a credit. Now you can begin the assessment - for a typical office or store it should take no more than 45 minutes.

If you get interrupted no problem - you can log off at any time and return to the report as your answers are saved on our secure servers.

Total peace of mind

And to give you total peace of mind your assessment is verified by us, this includes the all important risk rating calculation. Any areas in need of clarification are quickly resolved and we sign off the assessment as suitable and sufficient. We even put our name on the assessment.

The law and your responsibilities

The Fire Safety Order 2005 now makes it law for all buildings to have a fire risk assessment (FRA). It has been law since October 2006. The Order applies to multi-occupied residential buildings and the common areas of flats. It does not apply to the flats themselves, although there are standards that should be achieved – see our residential section.

For residential housing there is the Housing Act 2004 which applies to rented accommodation. Under the Housing Health and Safety Rating System (HHSRA) there are 29 hazards listed – one of which is fire. Our residential section deals with this in detail.
